December 12, 2005

Dear PCA Family & Friends,
This is the time of year when I begin reflecting back on the past year, and begin thanking God for His faithfulness to our PCA family. As I walk the halls of Prestonwood Christian Academy for the last few times of 2005, I am continually reminded of how grateful I am to be a part of the wonderful ministry called Prestonwood Christian Academy.

Prestonwood Christian Academy continues to experience record growth, not only in numbers of new students, but also in programs, facilities and staff. This progression was never more evident than in November, when more than 800 parents and friends came together to learn more about the future of Prestonwood Christian Academy at the annual State of School Address.

As we count our blessings this holiday season, we are reminded that to whom much is given, much is required. As your family plans year-end giving, we ask you to consider the many wonderful support opportunities here at Prestonwood Christian Academy:
  • Pillars of Faith – In November 2003, we kicked off Pillars of Faith, moving forward in faith that God would provide the funds necessary to complete the Upper School campus. The campaign was born with a goal to raise $4 million, which would be used along with secured financing to complete the new Upper School campus. To date, we have secured commitments or gifts of over $3.8 million. It's time for the PCA family to come together and complete this campaign before the end of 2005!
  • PCA Fund – Each fall, our annual campaign, the PCA Fund, is kicked off to help enable Prestonwood Christian Academy to attract the finest faculty using a highly competitive faculty compensation plan, ensure the widest range of academic and extra-curricular opportunities for students and maintain competitive tuition rates. A strong PCA Fund is vitally important to the school's continued progress. To date, we have received gifts of over $430,000 towards the $475,000 goal. We need to finish strong with our giving and reach the goal before year-end!
  • Sponsor-A-Child – Charitable contributions to Sponsor-A-Child is a way to ensure a Kingdom Education at Prestonwood Christian Academy is available to a wide-array of students across the Metroplex. Gifts and pledges to Sponsor-A-Child are 100% designed to helping those students whose families cannot fully afford the cost of a PCA education.

And remember, the Katrina Emergency Tax Relief Act of 2005, known as KETRA, is in place until December 31 and is designed to help victims of Hurricane Katrina and spark charitable giving in general. KETRA tax incentives allow individual donors who itemize on their federal tax return to deduct up to 100 percent of their adjusted gross income for certain cash gifts in 2005. The normal limit is 50 percent in one year. The 100 percent limit is only in effect for outright cash gifts made from August 28 through December 31. Other gifts are subject to existing limitations as before. KETRA may provide you with a rare opportunity to greatly reduce or pay off your pledges using cash gifts that may be deductible up to 100 percent of your adjusted gross income in 2005 and pay little to no federal income taxes in 2005. Your cash gifts to Prestonwood Christian Academy may be eligible under the new rules. As always, please consult with your tax adviser for more information.

To ease your year-end giving to Prestonwood Christian Academy , you can mail your gift directly to us, or if you would prefer, you may drop your gift envelope into the “Year-end Giving” box, which will be located in the main atrium of Prestonwood Baptist Church the week following Christmas. Be sure to designate “PCA” on your check along with your specific area of support.

If you have additional questions on the support opportunities at Prestonwood Christian Academy, please feel free to contact me personally at 972-820-5157 or mbeeson@prestonwoodchristian.org.

I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. May the old, but ever new miracle of Christmas be yours, filled with happiness, family and friends.

In His service,

C. Mike Beeson
Executive Director
Office of Advancement
Prestonwood Christian Academy

P.S. Let's finish strong as a PCA family in 2005 and complete the funding of these very important campaigns!
