Ambassadors

Ambassadors takes outstanding, articulate students who value Prestonwood Christian Academy and want to share their enthusiasm with students and parents who are looking at the school as a potential home for their family.

The goal of the Ambassadors is to use student volunteers in a way that allows personal attention to be given to each visitor to the PCA campus:

  • To hear and address their questions and concerns.
  • To share an inside perspective of the things that make Kingdom Education and Prestonwood Christian Academy unique and inviting.

Ambassadors change the prospective parent tour from a tour of places to a tour about people.

You may request more information on Ambassadors from the Sharron Shaw, Director of Admissions, at (972) 820-4010 or sshaw@prestonwoodchristian.org.

Ambassador Selection

In order to participate in the Ambassadors, students must be part of the Student Leadership Institute. Students can become part of the Ambassadors in one of two ways:

  1. Submit an application to the Director of Admissions, which is reviewed by a selection committee.
  2. Nominated by a PCA teacher or staff member.

The Ambassador Program is open to students in grades 9-12.

Student Ambassadors

Ambassadors are given the responsibility of hosting prospective students when they visit the PCA campus. It is the Ambassadors responsibility to discover the interests of the visiting student, and to introduce them to the faculty members and current students who share the same interest.

Ambassadors also participate with Parent Ambassadors in giving tours to prospective parents, and act as hosts and hostesses at special events like the Private School Fair, PCA Open House, Kindergarten Round-Up, receptions and other events at Prestonwood Christian Academy.

Parent Ambassadors

Parent Ambassadors give a personal, inside perspective to visiting parents in an informal setting. This informal setting gives visiting parents an opportunity to ask the questions that are most important to them, and to receive an honest, insightful answer from parents who know the school well, and understand the philosophy and the benefits of being at Prestonwood Christian Academy.

The Office of Admissions welcomes parents who desire to be Parent Ambassadors. The time commitment is 1 to 1½ hours each time they choose to participate in a tour. The program coordinator establishes and maintains the schedule for all volunteer ambassadors.

Ambassador Training

Parents and students receive a 2-3 hour initial training, a training manual with helpful tips and information about Prestonwood Christian Academy, and the opportunity to train along-side admissions office personnel.
