2008 VARSITY TRACK
NEWS
Varsity track is in its 9th season. PCA currently has 4 athletes competing at the collegiate level. Last year the Lions sent 7 to the state track meet. Carlee Finkelstein was 2nd in girls discus, Josh Lewis was 3rd in the discus competition, and Marielle Brisbois finished 3rd in the pole vault. Coaches Mark and Shannon Lichty are excited about this year’s teams. The boy’s team has 36 athletes and the girl’s team is made up of 17 runners. This year’s strengths will be in the boy’s relays, hurdles, discus, and all the jumps. Our girls will compete strong in relays, 800, 1600, hurdles, discus, shot, pole vault, long and triple jump. This year has already seen three school records fall! Junior, Taylor Henry has posted new marks in the long and triple jump, and Josh Lewis broke the five year old discus mark. All this proves to be signs for another great year on the Lions track.
