The Bible is clear that God's intention is for parents to disciple and train their children-to "impress [God's commandments] on your children" according to Deuteronomy 6:7. As you prepare for another year, let us encourage you to prayerfully consider a new opportunity for PCA parents called Kingdom Parent Institute (KPi).
Kingdom Parent Institute is an opportunity for parents to learn practical and biblical wisdom in the area of Kingdom Family. This year our institute will be divided into two different sessions. The fall session will be the entry level 7 week course taught by Head of School, Larry Taylor. Mr. Taylor will focus on the foundations of a Kingdom Family such as a personal, marriage and family plans. The spring session will be two, 4-week seminars that delve deeper into the issues that affect Kingdom Families. Topics like Biblical and Cultural Issues, Kingdom Finances, Age of Opportunity, Manhood, Early Childhood Training and Mentoring are possible topics that will be offered.

This study includes special guest speakers to inform, entertain, and given godly wisdom. Speakers in the past have included Susie Hawkins, Neal and Sheila Jeffrey, Chrissie Dunham and more! There is also a panel for Q & A that has proven extremely beneficial to parents. Teens also periodically visit the class to review dating books and give insights to parenting today.

You will receive biblical guidelines and weekly goals that connect the family (personal, marriage, and children) spiritual growth plan together in a practical way.
Are you having trouble reading and understanding Scripture- or just having trouble reading your Bible at all? We'll talk about how God uses Scripture to teach us more about Him and how to get the most out of our time spent in the Word. We'll also discuss the top 20 things every Christian should know about the Bible and how to teach our children about God's Word more effectively.
FAMILY MISSION TRIP
The PCA Family Mission trip for January 15-17, 2010 is full. Due to the amount of interest in this trip we are working on a second trip and hope to get those details out soon. If you are still interested in participating in a Family Mission trip this school year please e-mail Mary Carl Finkelstein at mcfinkelstein@prestonwoodchristian.org
PCA first Family Mission Trip to El Paso, Texas was a huge success! The trip allowed parents and their children 8-years-old and older an opportunity to evangelize as a family to people in need of Jesus Christ, as well as develop a Family Mission Plan. PCA Partnered with CHIA (Christian Hands in Action), PCA offered this trip from Jan. 16-18, 2009 with Mr. Larry Taylor as the guest speaker.
