KINGDOM FAMILY
Welcome to the Prestonwood Christian Academy Kingdom Family Page!
Some days parenting can be a thankless task, at other times it is the most rewarding and fulfilling responsibility far and away surpassing any title or position the world could imagine. Everyday, however, parenting is an opportunity, a calling, a responsibility, a challenge and a gift.
Prestonwood Christian Academy is honored to partner with you as Christian parents in this journey to raise godly young men and women who are grounded in Biblical truth and walking in a manner worthy of their calling. Toward that end, we are constantly looking for opportunities to encourage you as parents in this grand endeavor and we offer you the various resources on this PCA Kingdom Family page as one means of equipping you for the task at hand.
Included under the banner of Kingdom Family is a new endeavor called Kingdom Parent Institute (KPi) which is an opportunity for PCA parents to learn practical and biblical wisdom relative to parenting in the areas of Cultural Apologetics, Biblical Literacy and Marriage & Family. This training course taught by PCA staff and parents who will share a biblical perspective and their own personal insight on these various topics.
The family is the cornerstone of our society. More than any other force it shapes the attitude, the hopes, the ambitions, and the values of the child. And when the family collapses it is the children that are usually damaged. When it happens on a massive scale the community itself is crippled. So, unless we work to strengthen the family, to create conditions under which most parents will stay together, all the rest — schools, playgrounds, and public assistance, and private concern -- will never be enough.
— President Lyndon Johnson (June 4, 1965)
The family is the nucleus of civilization.
— Will Durant

A PCA Parent Resource List is also part of the PCA Kingdom Family and is available to help you select appropriate and challenging resources that will help you do deeper in your understanding as a parent.
The PCA Parent Resource List is segmented into categories that follow the Five Areas for Spiritual Growth: Passion & Devotion, Spiritual Disciplines, Biblical Literacy, Cultural Apologetics, and Parenting & Family. The list will be constantly updated, so be sure to check back often for the latest additions.
Single Parents have a special section devoted to their special needs and opportunities which will include information about upcoming meetings.
Counter Culture is the new name for the old Kingdom Bread monthly e-newsletter to parents, but it is so much more than that! In addition to a monthly topic addressed from a biblical perspective, Counter Culture will also give updates and current commentary on areas of cultural significance in six primary areas:
