Q: Do you pay dues to join PTF?
A: No, there are no dues to join PTF. All PCA parents and faculty are PTF members.
Q: If there are no dues, where does the PTF get the funds to conduct business?
A: A portion of every student’s activity fees are designated for class social events, service projects and faculty appreciation events. All other PTF events are supported by voluntary fundraising projects. The PTF Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer administer the PTF funds.
Q: When are the PTF meetings?
A: The PTF Executive Committee holds monthly meetings August through May. The Board of Directors, including the Executive Committee meets approximately twice a year. All parents are welcome to attend meetings of the Board of Directors. If you wish to attend a meeting, contact Stacy Kell.
Q: How do I volunteer with the PTF?
A: Please indicate your interest in volunteering via your volunteer profile on NET CLASSROOM. It is important to complete this profile and keep it up-to-date. When we are planning an event, we will contact all the individuals who have expressed interest in that event via their volunteer profile. In addition, all volunteers must complete and return the Volunteer Authorization Form to either the Lower or Upper School office. PTF will also provide volunteer sign-up sheets at school wide events such as the Back To School Fair and curriculum nights for Lower, Middle and Upper School.
Q: How do I become a Grade Level Coordinator or Room Mom?
A: To volunteer for grade level or classroom activities, contact your current Grade Level Coordinator or Room Mom (see Who to Contact section). To serve in one of these positions, please indicate your interest in your volunteer profile at MyPCA.net.
Q: Where do the funds for class parties come from?
A: A nominal activity fee is included in your student’s tuition. A portion of the activity fee is designated for class social events. In the Lower School, all class parties must follow the grade level and class budget. In Middle School and Upper School, additional funds may be required and collected based on the event. This collection must be approved by school administration and the Activities office.
