If you are interested in learning about design and page layout through Adobe InDesign, this is a basic class to walk you through this incredible program. The Adobe products work together to create brochures, flyers, books, etc. by incorporating text, images and graphics. You will leave this class knowing how to create new documents, import graphics and text, add effects, wrap text around graphics, use ruler guides, and learn when pictures need to be RGB or CMYK.

| CAMP COLLEGE |

| Rising seniors, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to get your college applications completed during the summer and be ready to submit to colleges in the early fall. Camp College is a 2-1/2 day seminar designed to help rising seniors prepare their college applications. The activities will include a college search, a career inventory as well as completing a common application for both private colleges and Texas public colleges, two polished essays and a resume. Each essay will have two peer edits and two edits by Dr. Janet Miranda, the course instructor. Students will have an opportunity to hear a panel discussion of real college representatives talk about the application process. Fee includes Accepted College Planning Workbook, applications, CD for essays/resume and snacks. Last day of each session ends at noon.

| FUN IN THE SUMMER |

| On Monday, we will have fun with letters. We will review our letters and their sounds and work on our handwriting skills. On Tuesday, we will have fun with numbers. We will review our numbers with hands-on activities and a fun scavenger hunt. On Wednesday, we will have fun with colors. We will do several activities including blending different colors and refreshing our color word recognition. On Thursday, we will have fun with science. We will be on the fast track with several experiments. We will be honing our investigative skills to problem solve and hypothesize. On Friday, we will have fun with a parable. We will take a close look at the lost sheep and lost coin parables to see what it means to us. We will use drama and craft activities ACADEMICS to bring this story to life. Course fee includes all materials and snacks. New incoming students to PCA for Preschool 5 and Kindergarten are welcome to attend.

| INTERVIEW SKILLS 101: THE IMPORTANCE OF A FIRST IMPRESSION |

| Knowing how to conduct an interview for a job, leadership position or college entrance is important! You have a short amount of time to make a great first impression. In this class, you will choose a job/college/position that you want to “mock” interview for. All week we will go over interview do’s and don’t, tips and pointers. On Thursday, you will come professionally-dressed and have a one-on-one interview with your organization. Friday will be a day for group self-evaluations and your final review. Monday through Wednesday will be 1:00-2:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday will be 1:00-3:00 p.m.

| SAT TEST PREP |
Instructor: Steve Lee, PCA Upper School Teacher, Lori Nappier, PCA Upper School Math Teacher
Location: PCA Upper School U127 |
| This non-credit course offers students a concentrated review of the basic concepts related to the critical reading, writing and math portions of the SAT. Recommended study and test-taking techniques will be included. The goal of this program is to enhance testing success by familiarizing students with the format of the test and by providing strategies and practice materials for different types of questions. A full-length, practice SAT test will be administered and scored at the beginning and end of the course so that parents and students may monitor progress. Students may attend one or both sessions. The book, The Official SAT Study Guide may be purchased from the instructors on the first day of class for $20. The cost of the book is NOT included in the enrollment fee.

| SCIENCE CAMP - THE STUDY OF FORENSICS |

| Join us as we study forensic science with hands-on experience solving realistic crime scene scenarios using actual forensic techniques. Students will practice techniques of fingerprinting, analysis of hair, fibers, impressions, DNA and more. The process of discovering the answers is what Science Camp is all about. You will enjoy learning that you can discover the answers through hands-on involvement.
