PCA's Communication Arts faculty work to prepare our students to engage in discourse that honors God through our tone, logic, creativity, credibility and rhetorical skill. Never has it been enough to lay out facts in cold and distant tones or argue for the truth condescendingly.
The Communication Arts Program exists to train students from a Biblical Worldview to be intentional storytellers who think critically about their message, creatively engage their audience and effectively use communication to transform the culture for Christ.
ACSI SPEECH MEET
- PCA is a chapter member of the Association of Christian Schools International and competes in the District Speech Meet each spring semester. Students in 1st-6th grade are eligible to compete at the In-House Speech Meet competition prior to ACSI District Meet.
- Students compete in the following events (based on grade level): Poetry, Bible Memory, Fable & Folklore, Patriotic Oration, Original Speech or Dramatic Bible Prose.
- Students perform in front of three judges and receive feedback on the performance.
- The top 3 performances (based on numeric scoring) will go on to compete at the ACSI District Competition.
Classes and academic competitions like Mock Trial aim to develop: Competent Kingdom Listeners, Confident Kingdom Thinkers and Compelling Kingdom Storytellers to transform the culture for Christ.
