Middle School Highlights

Character - Biblical character is the foundation of all our programs and integrated into our curriculum and culture. Our character programs include weekly biblical character emphasis, weekly chapels, service/mission projects and student character recognition. Students are taught the importance of making wise choices based on what God’s word tells us and to be set apart for the greater glory of God. Psalms 4:3 “but know that the LORD has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The LORD will hear when I call to him.”

Academics – A rigorous “liberal arts” (the term liberal arts denotes a curriculum that imparts general knowledge and develops the student’s rational thought and intellectual capabilities) program is the standard for our middle school curriculum. The five core classes, for all students Fifth Grade through Eighth Grade, include math, English, history, science, and Bible. In additional the following “special”/elective classes include choir, band, art, theater, computer/technology, learning lab, Future Problem Solvers, physical education, study skills, health, Spanish and Latin.

Relationships – Biblical relationship training is a difference factor at PCA. The key biblical commandment that is used to guide us is Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said to them, “…you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” A special program called Middle School GPS (G-P-S stands for relationship with G-God, P-Parents, S-Students) guides each grade level and student through the three most important relationships in the life of a middle school student.

Extra-Curricular—Through programming options offered in athletics, Fine Arts, academic competitions and more, PCA Middle School students have an opportunity to further explore the gifts and talents they have been given. All extra-curricular programs are designed to balance each Middle School student’s overall educational experience at PCA.
