Service Projects

Service Projects

Every Seventh through Tenth Grade student participates in two service project days a year. We have approximately thirty advisory groups that are assigned to serve the community in eighteen different locations around the metroplex. Some examples of local areas we serve are: food pantries, senior citizen services, resale shops, men/women shelters, Habitat for Humanity work projects, retirement facilities and several Mi Escuelita schools. This is a highlight for our students to be able to use their gifts to serve others in our community.

Manna Mondays
Operation Christmas Child

Manna Mondays

Parent/Teacher Fellowship heads up this ministry in conjunction with 4th grade students.

On the first Monday and Tuesday of each month (excl. February), 4th grade students and moms collect designated items at the Lower School entrance, which are donated to various service projects and agencies in the area. The donations include non-perishable food items, gently-used coats, toys, books and DVDs. Middle School and Upper School students deliver Manna Monday donations on their service project days during the school year.

Manna Monday is an on-going opportunity to emphasize service and outreach to our community, state and world.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a service project Prestonwood Christian Academy participates in with Prestonwood Baptist Church. Operation Christmas Child is an international program started in 1993 by Franklin Graham and Samaritan’s Purse. The goal is to collect shoeboxes filled with toys for children which are sent by Samaritan’s Purse to 130 countries around the world with the gospel message tucked inside. PCA encourages students to participate as another mission opportunity to serve others and share the gospel.
