Parenting isn’t for the faint of heart - even with the most intentional parents, there are so many factors pressing down on our students that just weren’t there when we were kids - seems like the world is more complicated and the time we get to spend with our kids training them flies by too quickly. These four weeks will examine some of the latest developments in social science while also going back to the fundamental principles of Scripture as we look to learn together how to give our best effort to the most important role - being a parent.

What resources does KPi offer parents?
Prestonwood Christian Academy is honored to partner with Christian parents in their journey to raise godly young men and women who are grounded in biblical truth and walking in a manner worthy of their calling. PCA is constantly looking for opportunities to encourage parents in this grand endeavor, and we offer various resources on Kingdom Family topics as a means of equipping parents for the task at hand.
Raising Resilient Children- taught by Dan Panetti, Esq.
"So many teens have lost the ability to tolerate distress and
uncertainty, and a big reason for that is the way we parent them."
-Kevin Ashworth, clinical director, NW Anxiety Institute in Portland, Oregon
And so begins the chapter on “Paranoid Parenting” in the recent blockbuster book titled The Coddling of the American Mind by Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt. It’s not a Christian parenting book, but a clarion call to parents nonetheless that “safetyism” and “helicopter parenting” are not only ineffective, but also damaging to the well-being of children in the long run. Examining the latest research on stress, anxiety and uncertainty while using the ageless foundation of God’s Word, these four parenting sessions will challenge you as a Christian parent to “prepare the child for the road, not the road for the child.”
