Portrait of a PCA Student
The goal of the Campus Ministry Team is to develop and implement an intentional pre-kindergarten through 12th grade spiritual development plan for PCA Plano and pre-kindergarten through 6th grade of PCA North that complements the biblical worldview training already woven into the PCA curriculum.
Luke 2:52 tells us that Jesus grew in wisdom, stature and favor with God and man, and we use those four categories as a backdrop for our spiritual development plan. Each pillar of Luke 2:52 is divided into ten different categories, providing 40 topics that we intentionally address through the various programs and ministries at PCA.
Our flagship program is our chapel, a weekly spiritual development time that is actually five different events per week. There is a specific chapel for each of the following grade levels: PK-1, 2-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-12. Chapel includes a time of worship and a speaker, and is followed by small group advisory time. During this advisory time, students are instructed how to study God’s Word using the observation, interpretation, application paradigm, in order to learn how to study Scripture on their own.
The Campus Ministry Team coordinates other activities related to the spiritual life of our school community, including:
- North Campus Middle School Retreat
- See You at the Pole
- Instructional Assistance to Teachers
- Manna Mondays
- World Impact Day
- PCA Prays Powered by Prayer Ministry
